Hey all - we just arrived in Cappadocia in Central Turkey. We are staying at the Meleklerevi Cave Hotel http://www.meleklerevi.com.tr/ - and the owners (he's an architect and she is an Interior Designer) treated us to a viewing along with their own personal Turkish friends of a documentary film on the renovation of these 3000 year old caves as a boutique hotel.
We spent the morning at leisure at the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul before flying onward. Here are 3...Topkapi courtyard, Irene and Steve at Topkapi over looking the entrance to the Bosporus:
and our hotel - the Faros, owned by a large Kurdish family and some very interesting conversations about world affairs. were had in the lobby. Only ablock away from the Blue Mosque, and the Center of the Center of the World (more about what that's about tomorrow).
